Signing Canvas

Bar Mitzvah Signing CanvasA favourite mitzvah keepsake is the signed canvas. This is a mounted 20×30 canvas with a central image of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child and a white frame around it for all the guests to sign. This is a special memory the child can keep to show their children!

Our photographer will do a half an hour photo shoot of the BM child 6-8 weeks prior to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah. This can be at your home or a favourite location such as the beach or park within the Eastern Suburbs. It is just a session with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child. This allows enough time for the canvas to be ready for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah day. It is also a chance for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child to feel comfortable with the photographer which makes the atmosphere a lot more relaxed on the big day!

An online gallery or viewing session will be set up for you and your child to choose your preferred image for the canvas.

On the night we will supply an easel for the canvas to be displayed on, allowing easy access for signing.

Synagogue Rehearsal Portraits

This is the opportunity to record the moments of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah that show the Jewish aspects of the ceremony. It is a chance to have photos that really signify the heritage of this tradition and capture special moments of the child’s journey and how proud the parents are.

As photography is not permitted on Shabbat, the Shule shoot is usually scheduled during the week of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah and often starts the excitement of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations. At the Shule shoot we photograph the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child, siblings, parents and grandparents. We capture a range of images that best represent the ceremony. We also always take several family images. For this shoot we ask you and the family to dress as you will be dressing on the day.  There are normally 10-15 images that you will receive from this session. These images will be delivered with the final images.

It is your responsibility to organise a time with the Shule to be open. It is very common practice and most Shules will happily coordinate this with you.

Pre reception family Session

Family photo time! This is the opportunity to make sure you capture those special family portraits of your immediate family. It is a half an hour session just before the reception where we will get individual images of your children, parents with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child and the full family (parents & siblings) all dressed up and looking their best!  We limit this session to Bar/Bat Mitzvah child, siblings and parents as it is a short session and it really is about the immediate family. We also want to make sure you are still early to the reception.

There are usually 10-15 images that you will receive from this session. These images will be delivered with the final BM images.

Extended family groups can be taken at a certain time during reception. Let David know if you would like to discuss this or any other options.
